Default T-5 Differences

I need a t5 to fit an 89 LX 2.3 Stang. The tranny that I have is roached. I was told that a 5.0 T5 would not work. I have read most of the posts here and seem to be getting some conflicting information. I have access to a T5 from a turbo coupe, are they the same as a any other and will it work? Could I use a 5.0 T5? What are my options? Does any one have a T5 for sale?

The T5 from any 4-cyl Fox body will work, including the Turbo Coupe. The 5.0 T5 has a larger diameter pilot shaft. It either needs to be cut down or get the special pilot bearing that will adapt the 5.0 T5 to the 4-cyl. I have 3 T5's but the shipping would be atrocious!

The 5.0 T-5 also has higher first gear ratio that would make the 4 banger
really guttless in 1st. That may also cause extra stress on the clutch and
wear it out faster. That is, If you could get the pilot shaft to work.
