I have a 2.3 N/A thats runs pretty well.

I had a lot of work done on it, but its weird.

Some days it takes off like nuts. Other days it hesitates and I feel the engine brake alot.

Is this a warning sign of anything bad to come?

Like this morning... I see the light turn green and I accelerate like normal, but then it got a burst of speed and before I knew it I was going 60 (probably about 7 or 8 seconds later)

So I got curious and tested it.

0-65 took about 10 seconds on the first try
65-75 took 1.5 seconds second try

Then I let it cool down and tried again
0-60 took 7 or 8 seconds
65-75 took 4 seconds???

Same day. Same road. Same pedal position.

It just seems weird. Chilton's manual told me to change the Egr Valve on it, but I see nothing wrong with it.

Shoot... I just realized this is in the wrong section... Sorry.. This should be in 2.3 tech

I think im fighting the same problem/issue.
For me it seems worse when its cold-stalls on start up.
Does yours stall when its cold too?

Actually, yes. But only when its cold... It takes 2 tries sometimes to get it started. Too bad I dont have a block heater.

Check your TPS (Throttle Position Sensor, I think there's a detailed thread in the 5.0 tech forum describing how, and if you've got the Chilton's manual I believe it's covered there as well.) and make sure your pre-heater pipe (if yours has one, I know they did all the way to '88, not sure past that) is connected and doesn't have any holes in it. Both of these will cause weird hesitation/take-off conditions, especially in cold weather when the engine isn't fully warmed up.
