Default Fuel Problems in an 89 mustang lx?

I have an 89 mustang lx. A few things have happened since i bought it. First whenever its cold it dies whenever it goes into gear unless it is warmed up first. Now ive read on this sitethat this could be a clogged line or needs a filter change, the reason I ask anyway is because my fuel pump hums really loud, like to the point where I can hear it over my exhaust. So am I going to have to replace the pump regardless or what? Also another problem i have been experiencing is that im getting very voltage from my engine all the time. Even after a good 20- 30 minute drive I dont ever get enough juice. My lights always dim as soon as I get off the gas. I assume its my alternator because I replace the battery a while ago (got a free one figure what the hell) but i was also wondering if it could be somehow connected to the fuel problems. Any ideas?

Your fuel problem could be related to the electrical one. EFI engines need lots of elect. power.

Default 91 fuel relay

Chilton's manual says the '91 fuel relay is under the driver's seat. Have you checked the inertia switch in the trunk? Also, does the engine run when you have the pump jumpered to the battery? If not you may be missing the Profile Ignition Pickup signal from the distributor.
