Exclamation Headlights.electrical Problem?

Hello Everyone, Im having a problem wiht my 5.0L it's a 1987 5.0 LX Im 2nd owner previos owner was an 70 year old man car is in pretty good conditon? Interior perfect Enging Perfect Undertrain perfect aside from exhaust and needs new shocks&struts but u for $1000 can't go wrong has an 5.0L H.O. definelty has had a rebuild engine in immaculate condition,But im having troubles with the lights the pre-owner had (DTL) put in so I removed it cause its annoying and heaty so anyways after that I turned on the headlight switch the 1st click works speedolights come on,radio lights, parking lights, tale.
but the second for the headlights don't work???? this is what confuses me I've replace the head switch unit with two differnt ones didn't work????? I checked for power outta my car that works same mustang not 5.0 has same power and everything at the wires everything is the same on the two? but the 5.0 must not be getting power past a point so my ? is what should I do how should I find the short or wat it may be>? or should I just take the other head light wiring assembly outta my spare 2.3 and replace it with that? any help would be greatly appreciated? thanks?

Wiring problems are not easy to trace, a voltmeter and time is the only fix.
