There's a video on the web somewhere that shows a Briggs and Stratton or Tecumseh lawnmower engine running a turbocharger (looked like a T3 or something similar) off of a car, so I'd imagine it's possible, but I don't see where it'd be necessary, as a single turbo on a 2.3 is a pretty impressive piece of work stock, let alone when modifed, Ford left a lot of potential untapped.
Heck, there's that '57 Chevy with a big-block V8 and 8 turbos, sadly, a single 4-bbl. carburetor, a better cam, high-rise intake manifold, and some headwork would probably make more power than that beast does. (It was in Chevy High Performance or Hot Rod a few years back.)
