Default best head gasket???....86 svo

whats the best brand head gasket for a turbo 2.3 pushin a whole lot of boost like close to the 25 psi range?????

Cometic MLS but there's some surface prep (i.e. machining) I think has to be done to the head and deck to do it right.

There's also a Fel-pro hi-perf gasket for the 2.3. I can't remember the part number, but it's not the 8993 that comes with the gasket sets.

Props to the MLS cometic and yes, both the head and the deck surface have to be completely flat!

Fel-Pro 1035 is the good one. Around $50.

Thanks for putting up the Fel-Pro info. I had the "10" part but couldn't remember the last two numbers.

With the Cometic gasket, there's also a specific grit finish that must be on the both mating surfaces to insure a proper seal.

i went wuth a regular fel-pro...didnt have time for all the other stuff...see the story is....im 16 jus got this 86 svo and my dad is bein real gay about it and dnt want me doing anything to it because he hates the 2.3 we are mostly v8 people but i wanted sumthin fun to play around with on the street....but i was out friday night and the 23 pounds of boost got the best of the stock head gasket, and i knew my dad would freak and say i was street racin and all this other stuff, which dnt get me wrong i was out flyin on some back country roads makin this video for some of my friends.....but anyways my dad was out of town saturday so i decided i was going to fix it by myself im fully capable ive built a number of sb fords and built our 93 stang race car but anyways...i tore into it saturday mornin at 8 and had it all apart by 11 and started prepping averything to gao back on at 12 and had it back togather by 3......but it wouldnt start..FOR ANYTHING... i worked all day from 3 to 12 that night trying to get it to start and it wouldnt so i gave up for the night....the next mornin i still couldt figure it out i had fuel and spark but my timing was all over the place so yesterday working from 1 till 9 i finally got it running but its still runnin very ruff....so i gottta take it to sumone today who knows what they are doin........
...i dno im jus tired of messin with it.....
