Default Building a 2.3L Turbo Engine. Any ideas?

-First of all this is my first posting on this site, I just registered a couple of days ago. So hello to all. -So I have a 1988 Stang with a stock non turbo 2.3L in it. I am looking for a donor engine that I can build up and turbo. I have been told that the T-Bird engines are better than the mustang 2.3L is this a fact? -I have found a 1983 2.3L engine and I want to put a roller head and cam assembly off of a 1989 2.3L is this going to work? -By building a 2.3L turbo and intercooler on it I know I will gain power but what kind of torque am I looking at if I'm running a stock cam. Is adding a turbo and intercooler going to mess with my fuel mileage all that much? -This is all knew to me I have helped build a couple of engines in the past but never a turo car or a four cylinder. Any advise that any of you can give me would be awesome. Thanks.

You can't just slap a turbo on a N/A 2.3. You'll need a turbo 2.3 shortblock. Do a search, it's been discussed a thousand times. I suggest you do some research before you jump into it. It's really a simple swap but there's a few things you need to know. Read up as much as you can.
