You don't repin the computer, you repin the 60-pin connector to the computer that's on your stock '91 harness. It's simply a matter of removing the red plastic retainer in the connector, then removing and replacing a couple of wires. TIP - each pin is held in the connector by a tiny plastic tab. You have to look real close. Use a scribe to push the tab down, carefully ('cause they tend to break), then the pin and wire will slide right out. After you repin it, the connector will plug right into your new computer.

Each motor has pretty much all the same sensors so your '91 wiring connectors should all connect to the turbo motors sensors.
Off the top of my head:
ECT
O2
O/P & W/T sending units
smog is a whole different story!

Have you checked Stinger's site??

Yes you will. If it starts at all, it'll run like crap! The computer makes calculations and adjustments to air/fuel/timing based on the signals it receives from the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor and the O2 sensor. The Oil Pressure and Water Termperature sending units run your O/P & W/T gauges. Why in the world would you not hook them up? Simply snap the connectors in place. As far as smog, I surmise the smog laws are pretty lax in Alabama. You could probably leave the EGR and accompanying valves and solenoids disconnected without any ill effects.

It all sounds good. Double check Stinger's step by step instructions to make sure you've got everything where it needs to be. You should be good to go.

Default Switching a '89 4 plug motor to '93 8 plug motor

Is there a good source of information on the wiring changes, especially the computer. I have a harness from a '93, a '93 air intake, etc, a computer from a '93, and a 93 motor. Each of these came from different sources. I am putting this in a '89 LX convertible. (The 4 plug motor has a cracked block. I bought the car knowing that the motor was bad.)

Thanks for any information. I plan to do this engine swap the first week of April..spring break.
