If it runs well for the week I will likely throw on some stainless pipe and try and get a conic filter on the end. Let me know if you know what to do with those hoses coming out of the air box. I believe they are responsible for sending hot air to the engine when it is damn cold out. And since we are both stuck in the "north" this will be important when it snows.
I wanted to help you on the vaccum line issues. I had quite an ordeal trying to sort it out. The reason being is that my heater stopped working. So here is the link to my thread on the subject, and believe me it saves alot of time and troubleshooting. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...take-swap.html

So in short just plug up the top vaccum line that goes towards the back of the engine bay. it somehow controls your thermostat and if unplugged your heater wont blow warm air, and you will notice serious fluctuations in your temp gauge. I learned the hard way, and dont really want anyone else to go trough all that id did. i hope i helped.

Negative

Removing the silencer does not require another tube to be in its place.

Once you do this, you'll notice a difference, at least I did

I removed mine took half an hr to take out, runs so much better now. Only thing I suggest is to get a good k&n air filter.

i scrapped my entire intake tube and replaced it with a 2 1/2 inch stainless air tube that i picked up from autozone and completed it with a conical air filter. basically a $50 cold air intake. works and sounds great, when i rev the motor you can hear the air sucking in the intake, almost like a turbo blowoff valve. highly recomend everyone takes the stock air tube off and upgrades it by any means necessary!

Hey everyone, I was reading through this, and would like to offer an idea to the person having idle and stalling issues after installing the CAI. I did the same to my 93 only I went with a 2 1/2 pipe, after I did this I disconnected my battery for 15 min to clear the setings for the Mass air flow and then hooked it back up and started the car, let it idle for 15 min to reset and everything works great. The 5.0's and the 2.3 share the same Mas Air sensor the computer just needs to be reset or it gets confused.. hope this helps....

I removed the air silencer on this one and stuck a cone filter in the fender:
