Okay so I removed the whole stock intake tube and replaced it with a new 3 inch diameter intake pipe. The first time I started it, the rpms went high like near 2000rpm, then back down to normal 1100 then like 850. But every now and then it would go up as high as 2000rpm and then it would go all the way down and stall. Why does it do this?

so u can just replace the silencer with a peice of tubing.?
Yeah, one with a 3 inch diameter. Like this one I got from a cold air intake im putting in. The cone air filter will be added as soon as I remove the airbox.
hey mustanq i like what you did with the car, im gunna have to show you some pics of my white hatch back, i put a dynomax muffler on mine dont really like the sound to much probly gunna put a cherry bomb on it after i get a header. could you post a pic of the taillights on in the dark, curious about them, considering getting some for mine

Thanks! I was thinking of adding the cherry bomb too but went with the performance flowmaster muffler 40 series. You actually read my mind lol. I was gonna take a pic tonight but kind of got lazy. I will take one tomorrow. From what Ive seen on past nights, they look REAL nice.

Wow.. i took a look at the inside of my silencer.. it is tiny compared to the tubes.. what is the point of the silencer anyway?? im gettin a cold air intake kit

I know lol. I think it was to make it sound less noisy but It sounds the same to me. I had to remove mine though and put it back on.. because I was having high rpms when i turned on my car and then it would die.
I still dont know why it did that and no one on this site could help me. So im just gonna wait until I start school.
