Default Valve Covers for 2.3 Dual Head Engine.

I was just curious about the valve cover on the 2.3 dual head engine. Does anyone know where to get one of those fancy ones like those crazy 5.0 guys have or are we stuck with our ugly black (if your still lucky it's black) valve cover? Thanks!

You can run one of the aluminum valve covers that came on the turbo cars. There's only one that will fit without major issues. It's the only one with the dip in the center to clear the throttle body. I know Esslinger makes a really nice valve cover, but I don't know if it has the center dip. I do know that it's spendy.

I don't think the EFI system will clear it, but Ford Racing used to make a chrome valve cover for the 2.3, I've got one on my Mustang II.

The EFI system might clear one with a spacer installed between the upper and lower halves of the intake, but I'm sure hood clearance would probably become an issue if that was done. I've only ever seen 2 of these, one was on Ebay (which is the one I have, I bought that bad boy the second I saw it!!!) the other on a 2.3-powered Pinto that used to dominated the local dirt track.
