Default 1988 Lx Mustang Starting Problems Any Suggestions?

Okay yesterday i canged my oil and pulled off my exhaust manifold...after discovering i couldnt getthe rest of the exhaust off i put it all back together....but having to pull the plug wires to get the manifold gasket back in i ****** my self..got the plug wires wrong and started it no go..tried another way no go a couple of more tries later i called a buddy who came to the rescue with the firing order..STILL NO LOVE..could i have jumped timing if so how can i get it back if it wont start.....?

I doubt that you jumped time. I think these cars have a timing belt and the belt most likely would break before it would jump time. to check the belt to see if it is broken try to pull the timing cover up enough with your finger and see if there is tension on the belt. If at any time you tried to start your car with the disributor removed then you are out of time and need to remove spark plug # 1 and retime. I would also check any wires spark plug or other that you may have moved to do the work you did and make sure that everything is connected.

Well i had it in the right order but didnt notice that the distrib cap had a 1 on it running almost like a champ...i have developed a massive exhaust leak...but on the plus side i have got new rims 14 inch 10 hole with the rivettes....and a clarion cd player
