Default 1989 Mustang Air Intake and Filter Problem

Hi everyone,
I was here before for a discussion on how to change Intake with the steel ones. Today i tried to change the original intake with the one i've got from this picture. I've got it at ebay, it said 87-90 2.3l 4cyl and mine is 89 2.3 4cyl. Ok i took the intake out and when i wanted to install the steel pipe it was not long enough, then i wanted to change the filter and mine was cubic shape same as the picture, but the other one was circulish shape. Then i wanted to take the silencer out and that thing wont come out at all untill you break it or something. I read thousands of forums about taking the silencer out but didn't know it is this difficult. So i had no alternative to just reasemble them back as original without any mod . Can anyone help please

seems like there should be another metal tube that goes from the top of your motor and is connected by the reducer that is pictured to the underneith of the elbow in the picture. then the piece in the picture is connecto to that piece by the blue rubber connector at the end of the pipe in the picture...the filter may even be made to go in the fender well, but i'm not familiar with this brand...only stuff for newer models which most of these kinds of cai are designed to have the filter inside of the fender

Yes i thought that too, the pipe is not long enough, missing something. When i putted the steel pipe there wasn't a place to hold it floating on the air. Besides the Filter they gave me is one way, install the pipe to the whole beside cylinder and the othe one that holds the filter to nowhere. I'm confused. Why did they even gave me that filter, mine is the yellow one same as the pic on above (cubic shape). I think i have to let it go. Thanks anyway.

The Ebay special you have is just a cheap short ram intake it isn't designed to reach the fender well, it just gives you a high flow filter in the stock location and I think you even have to make your own bracket to hold it in place. if you want to reach the fender well your gonna have to buy another piece of piping

Now i found an intake there but before buying it i want to make sure is it gonna fit, i dont want to wast money again. Heres the pic they provided on their site. Thanks

Ya that's the one u want if your lookin for a cold air intake in the fender well it even has the heat shield nice... but if u didnt want to spend another $100 u could just grab another piece of bent piping and a couple silicone couplers and use the one u have now, but its up to u either would work

You said it bro. Will never buy anything for my vehicles from ebay. Only the shops in town that i can actually talk to them and ask them question. I still got an Xenon 9004 light bulb a month ago from ebay too but that was only $5.00 and would be my last purchase.
