1989 Mustang 2.3 Removing Air Silencer (last time please!!)

Hi everyone,
I've did a lot of things for my Mustang from your help on this site and i appreciate it.
Now i've got another problem that sure has been posted for a couple of of times and i read all of them but i am still unclear.
I know wheres my silencer and how to get to there, so save you lot of time. The only problem is i cant take it out. They made it the same shape as the rubber thing around it. So to take it out i have to break it. Its not just pulling it out. If anyone who did it before tell me that it does not matter if i break it or damage it to take it out, then i'll do it. But if theres other ways please, please let me know. Thank to all of you.

Also u can take a dremel tool and cut out the hole a little bigger to get even better flow. Just cut it out of the box.

You mentioned cut it out of the box, do you mean out of the Tubing shape that has the Ford sign it it. Heres the pic i took the other day. If thats the one it doesnt matter if i cut the siencer inside the tube?

i didnt hve to cut mine out i just grabbed it with some pliars and pulled and it slid right out

How did you do that, i tried to pull it out with plier too but it was stuck that i almost broke the front of with. Please anyone confirm that the Silencer is in the same place i mentioned on the above image, so i dont break other parts and damage the car. Thanks

yes it is in the box marked with the ford logo if you take that box off and look in it you can see how much of a restriction it is

OK, thanks "pepegurr". Now i am 100% sure thats the one. I will try to take it out, and i'll break the thing if i have to

That scilencer is a 2 piece unit. I had to remove mine from each end of the infamous ford box. Use some channel locks to get a good grip and rotate as you pull. Don't worry about breaking the scilencer. I think its wothless anyhow.
