What would cause the idle to "click up" and then suddenly "click down" to only 3-4 hundred rpms and run really rough? Does the FI have a specific device that controls return to idle such as some older bosch injection systems did? Where can I learn all about my injection?

The idle air control valve or the TPS sensor, some parts u are able to pull off and clean with throttle body cleaner. Also a bad vaccume line could be your problem. Just pickup a Hayes book and it can run u through fuel injection.
