Default as a joke I emailed ford...

I did it as a joke inquiring about the hp of the 2.3 dp, they seem to believe that the dealerships can do increase the power??? here's their reply

Inquiries of a technical nature are best referred to our dealerships because they have factory trained technicians, comprehensive service information and specialized equipment to resolve your concerns

so I then informed them on their vehical options, I should've just asked are you going to make a young persons car, that's affordable!!! here they are again when I suggested a turbo car....

Vehicle options are added, deleted or modified based on the market trends, customer demands, engineering advances, and dealership input. At this time, there are no immediate plans to include this option in the North American market. However, it may be introduced in some form at a future date. Our Research and Advanced Engineering team continues to develop new and innovative ways of building vehicles.

Can we say turbo neon, turbo scion, come on ford come out with another SHO Taurus or a super coupe focus; not that SVT crap focus that was a joke. I can get a turbo neon for around 29k put in about a grand and have it running 13's. I am all ford to the core; except my wife's 90 eclipse turbo that can beat a stock 99-04 mustang GT. But I would love to get her a new FORD that I could get affordable, and tune it like the neons, and turbo equipped cars. The funny thing about it is ford is complaining about not selling enough mustangs. Hello FORD u can get a turbo neon that will run with the GT for LESS.

I hope to high heaven under 25K. Back when they were plentiful you could get one for under 20K. The catch was that it was the quickest car in the world for under $20K...

Ford should make some small effort to come out with some cars that are exciting, without making them so rare and expensive that only a few can get them.

A hot little focus, a BEEFIER mustang in sufficient numbers, a harley truck with a blower again...

Ford is too Vanilla. I own 3 of em. Great cars. But I would LOVE some stuff a little less generic.

o-boy I got them happy!!!!!

With surprising frequency, a suggestion offered by someone not connected with our company is the same as, or very similar to, an idea developed by the people we employ for that purpose.

Ford’s sales, advertising, marketing and business personnel are constantly working on ideas and programs to market our products effectively and to hold and increase our good will. Many of these ideas are not used immediately, but are put aside for possible use in the future.

ok.... so what are they doin?? their sales suck!!! prices are too high...
did I hit a nerve with them???

TRANSLATION: WE DON'T LISTEN TO OUR EMPLOYEES OR OUR CUSTOMERS. WE NEVER IMPLEMENT ANYTHING NEW. WE SIT ON OUR HANDS AND MAKE A LOT OF BORING CARS.

Hows that? Other than the mustang, and the F-150, what ford really impresses or inspires you? All their sales seem to be linked to these two vehicles.

again they say...

Vehicle designs take into account factors such as market trends, customer demands, engineering advances, and dealership input.

The Customer Relationship Center is unaware in advance of changes that our Engineering and Design Team may be making in the future

o-my god these people.... no wonder sales are down!!!

Ford, as a company, seems to be out of touch with what people want, and have been since about 1996.

Why do I say 1996?

That was the first year since 1974 that no V8 from the Windsor family was available in the Mustang.
That was the year it was announced that the Thunderbird would be discontinued after the 1997 model year (though it was brought back as a gutless retro-car a few years later).
That was the year it was announced that the Ford Aerostar van would be discontinued (none of it's many replacements have sold nearly as many units... hmmm.... could be that people want an RWD/AWD van like the Aerostar still??? I mean the Chevy Astro survived nearly a decade afterwards with those options... and it was a royal pile of junk, the Aerostar was a pretty tough workhorse of a van, every bit as tough as any given SUV built today)
The Ford Contour continued (in it's 2nd year) to be a lackluster performer that was too small to be a midsize, too big to be a compact, very problematic and unreliable overall, and mis-marketed.
The Ford Probe was put on the chopping block with the T-bird and Aerostar (yeah, right in the beginning of the shift to the FWD sports car/sporty car trend, do away with your particular contender in that segment... smart move.)
