Default 87 tc la3, direct plug in?

i just got a la3 given to me i currently have an lb3 . is the la3 a direct plug in or does the wiring need to be altered?

let me rephrase the question i am wondering if the la3 computer is a direct replacement for the lb3 computer or if the wiring harness has to be altered in any way to accomodate the different computer. both computers come in thunderbird turbo coupes.

LA3 and LB3 are the same pin vs. pin. They're practically the same computer. The LB3 was for automatic trans cars and the LA3 was for manual trans cars if I remember correctly.

thats what i thought but i wasnt sure. the la3 is suppoed to make more power than the lb3

5spd's had more power, 195 hp. while the auto only had 145hp.. the
