 Quick Question for all you Turbo guys.....

Im actually from the 4.6 section, as I have a 98 GT, but The reason I am posting this question, is that I have an 83 mercedes 300 turbo diesel. I am in the process of looking for a better turbo for it, and I had heard that the stock turbo from one of the 2.3 turboed mustangs or thunderbirds would work. what my question is, Is how much boost can one of the stock turbo's put out. What is their max boost before they become heatsoaked and inefficient. The mercedes is a 3.0 liter, so slightly larger than the 2.3 liter engine, but If one of the 2.3 liter turbos is found to be suitable, I will install it. Plus it would be nice to have some ford parts on my benz. :-D
