From what I've heard, no, but there are people out there running Volvo DOHC cylinder heads on their 2.3s, a lot of work involved, and the timing belt has to be re-aligned every so often.

Easier is definitely a relative term here. It's like saying it's easier to swim across the English Channel than it is the Atlantic Ocean.

Heading out to the driveway to take pics. Stay tuned!

I have been following the Volvo 16 valve head swap. If you search there is quiet a bit of information out there about the head and the swap

It's simply the upper half of a Mustang EGR tube welded to the lower half of a Ranger tube. Welding is easy since the Ranger tube actually fits inside the Mustang tube. I did however have to weld up a couple of holes from grinding off a nipple or two that went to something on the Ranger.

couldn't you just close off the egr????

and yeah, sleeper... I've looked into alot of the 16v reads!!!! but everyone of them are turbo persons..... I just want to know what it'll do to a dp motor, before the turbo.... and if it's enough of a gain then the turbo I don't need.... 150 to 180 is all I want.... turbo is 200hp, the set up I have is 250 to 280 hp.... but I need a re-build!!!

You're welcome! And yes you could close off the EGR. When I bought the header my plan was to do just that. Unfortunately, not all of our 4cyl. brethren live in areas without emissions testing. The tube graft was an experiment to see if you could keep the EGR without major issues.

It'll disable the EGR.

Bottom line, it's an emissions thing, but does effect driveability if disconnected or plugged.
