Tie rods, ball joints, hub bearings, rotors if it gets worst under breaking, bad struts, a very badly broken motor mount, bad rack bushings, anything in the front suspension check out.

If it were a brake rotor, you'd notice it even more under braking. If it doesn't do that, I'm betting on struts, ball joints, or rack.

jonny, on your 65, even though the suspension is a world apart in difference, the same basic concepts apply. Focus on shocks, upper and lower ball joints and tie rod ends.

ball joints, or rack.

wouldn't there be play in the wheel when it's off the ground??? if those were the issue??

If the rack was bad, maybe. When the car is in the air, the suspension is unloaded and sitting against the limits of suspension travel. Unless the problem lies in the outer tie rods and/or the inner tie rods were absolutely toast, you're not going to see or feel what the car sees and feels at ride height. If it were tie rods or the rack itself, a sloppy steering wheel would be there regardless of whether the car is on all fours or on a jack.

Being as that I work at a tire store, I'll tell you that the tire people won't tell if the tire has a little hop in it, if you bought the tires and rims from "them". It will cost "them" $$$ to adjust (WARANTEE) them out, and give you a new tire.
Go out there while they are balancing them, watch them spin for yourself.watch the bead edge of the wheel as well.
Sounds like the problem is in the front( Shake in the steering wheel) only.
If you have rims that will take weights on the outter bead, take them. inner and outer weights(Dynamic balance) is the best.

the front was aligned when new stuts were put on.. these tires will not hold balance, so after I'm all well from my surgery's, I plan on doing as slo' suggested, but one step further, I'm going to get in touch the corporate office, let them know that I'm going to take these tires to another dealer, and if they are out of balance they will refund me the cost of the tires and my time wasted..... knowing not much will happen, but they will replace the tires.....
