I recently bought a 1989 mustang coupe with a 4 cyl for cheap because transmission was out. One of my buddys has got a 1990 mustang coupe, also with a 4 cyl with a good transmission. The problem is i dont know if those two transmissions are compatable. the guy at the salvage yard says if its got two wires going the bellhousing it will work, if its got three it wont. I dont know where to look so can sombody tell me if they are compatable.

Yes they will work, autos where A4LD from 87-93 (C3 the other years) and T-5's for manuals (not sure about the 4 speed manuals though)
