OK. This is only my second post. What is all the talk about a Volvo cylinder head setup and is it worth the time & money. I know about the only aluminum head available is from Esslinger, but I paid about 1/5 for the car compared to the price of their heads. What kind of other parts do I need to make it work also? What kind of power gains could I expect over a ported swirl chamber head?

Flows just as good as an Esslinger head with a little porting

The sad thing is, with 15 PSI, straight back exhaust, and a bobs log, it still feels slow...
Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster
Pacesetter long tube header, Magnaflow High flow cat, Flowmaster Deltaflow 40 series, ported upper and lower intake manifold, EGR breather, CAI from mustangsunlimited.
Don't know anything about the engine you want the head on but why not build a Volvo engine all togeather if you like the heads?
b230f block with head from a b234f (or a b230ft block for turbo build). Change a few pulleys + a belt and you're set. Fix the intake, exhaust and perhaps some light porting and you have 200bhp N/A.
Funny thing this... I have one of those in the garage at the moment, set up for a twin screw blower but I want to go 351w instead.
Yes... we have a lot of Volvos over here. My first build got me 250bhp turbocharged. Easy build...

I agree I had one of those head and sold it. Too expensive for me. But had another idea with some backup info. SOHC turbo Volvo head. TurboFord.net Forums: Why the Volvo 16v obsession? (ie why not 8?) So bought one and bolted it to a 2.3 head. True not the flow like a DOHC. It was a turbo head so valve and cam should work. Planning on using stock EEC-IV or now. Here is picture.
