Yay newbie alert. Anyways yes I read all the other posts on MAF conversions, but i'd like a little more detail on it. To start off i'll give you my specs on my car currently.
1988 mustang lx body with a 1987 2.3L N/A motor
Mods-
Rebuilt 2.3L N/A Engine
Ported and Polished
Head shaved a few thousandths nothing major though
Cold air intake with running hose from the nose for fresh air
Deleted EGR Valve
Deleted Knock Sensor
CS1156R Hydraulic Camshaft
Racer Walsh Header dumps off to a glasspack.
MSD Ignition coil
Now I was told with alot of these mods done to the engine the speed density setup will not like it and probably is the base of all my current problems. The car is a 5 speed so you know. Now I have a 92 2.3L in the back that has MAF on it and everything, but its an automatic. I've been told the EEC will not work with my car because of that, but I could be wrong. The car is also the dual spark configuration ford used to burn gas more efficiently. Will this computer be compatible with my car as I do not have a dual spark configuration and I don't want to do a head swap. If it is or not could someone post up pics of what i'd be working with to do a MAF conversion on my car with a detailed step by step instructions. I really want to get this engine running at top performance before the weekend so I can go get it dyno'd and see what its really pushing from the stock 88hp it had. Thanks in advance.
Nick
P.S. If you need anymore info please ask I'll get it to you as far as I can.
P.S.S. The computer in my car currently is an FB2. Anyone know the model i'd need to do the conversion?
