Default need pics of a 2.3 motor

I was wondering if anyone out there could post some pics of their stock 2.3 engines. I bought a 90 donor car for my 85, pulled the engine and wiring harness from it with the intent on putting it right back in the other car. I have to travel from time to time for my job and I had to leave for about 7 weeks and I am lost now. A few good pics at different angles would really help, there is no 4cyl engine pics anywhere on the web that I could find anyway. Any help is greatly appreciated, I am almost there! Thanks.

I know how you feel! So many wires etc! I will look around for some pictures. Unfortunatly I already tore my engine and wiring out and am going carburated for simplicity. Why some things are run the way they are is beyond me. Must be done the way it is for manufacturing purposes. Anywho I'll give it a try.

thanks guys.... i had some questions answered by your pics Sleeper. The only thing that is hanging me up now is mostly the little vacuum tee mounted on the firewall...do you know where those all go to? And again thanks for all of the trouble you went thru to post those pics. It seems like 2.3 owners arent as proud of their 4bangers as the 5.0 guys, its really hard to find good pics

top left with red plastic tube goes to the EGR sensors and also splits off to open the hot air intake (bottom of the stock air box)

One goes to the top of the manifold right above the FPR

Brake booster

Etc, etc. I'll take pictures for you tomorrow

Pictures don't really lay it out for you, so I made a vacuum diagram of 1987-1990 mustangs (not sure if it works for the 91-93)

Note* This is for the vacuum tree lines, as I'm guessing you know where the PCV valve is, and fuel pressure vacuum line is

I know, I tried looking for a diagram and I couldn't find one, so I had to make it. I also have the original on my coil cover

i know nothing about the 2.3 mustang....i did the opposite of what most people do. i took a 5.0 out of my car and put in a 2.3! i am building this car for my son who is going to be driving soon, i have a monster 383 that i was going to put in along with a c4. i needed a driveshaft and a double hump crossmember when i came across a 90 convertable running and driving for $100, (actually the motor had just been rebuilt), but the lady had been rear ended and the car wasnt worth fixing. after driving the car i figured i would just put the 2.3 in until my son learns to drive well and then give him the power.

I wish my dad bought me a 5.0 car, but with todays gas prices (over $4.00 here in canada) I'm happy with my car, just want more power so I'm shoving a 2.3 turbo down my cars throat lol

you know i will probably end up putting a turbo on his motor once i get it going, i can never leave well enough alone. i was thinking about building a t-bucket kit for myself and the 383 would be perfect for that. another question(s) for you.... i have a two kind of thick black and orange wires with one smaller black one that all go in together and turn into a green wire, the come off of the ecm harness at the bottom of the drivers strut tower, also around the same area i have a blue wire and a brown wire that are tied together with a circular connection on the end. do you have any idea where these go with this description? too bad you live all the way up north, i would pay you to finish this project i have lost interest since i am not dealing with the 5.0 motor, but i need it out of the garage!
