1985 Mustang LX, Defective Parking Brake Switch The parking brake switch (controls dash warning light) on my '85 LX works intermittently at best. I got a junkyard replacement: same thing. The warning light comes on if I short the terminals, so I assume the problem has to be in the switch. It looks like the tin coating oxidizes so it doesn't make good contact.
Is there a better replacement part I can get? I was thinking of the tilt switches in thermostats and washing machines, except mercury is toxic. |
