You won't get the TFI distributor that came with the EFI cars to work without the computer. You could go back one generation and go with a duraspark setup, but that's a bit of a hassle with wiring and all. I think the cheapest and easiest way would be to grab a points distributor, throw a Jacobs electronic conversion in place of the points and then I believe the only thing you'll need is start and run wiring from the ignition switch. Clean, simple, and readily available.
You could get fancy and go with a Mallory Pro Billet distributor for a round $350.00 bucks or so and combine it with a Mallory Hi-Fire ignition box and coil. It would be a neat addition to a kit car and might give you a little bump in performance or at the very least, a strong ignition to handle anything you do to the motor later on. |
