Default 2.3 ignition...Houston? we have a problem

I bought a kit car and it came with a 2.3 efi motor that I opted to carb because I do not have all the fuel inj stuff that I should?
But...making the elec distributor work is a problem. Sorry all, points are one thing, this is beyond me in a sense what all do I need? What does it cost and how do I hook it all up?

You won't get the TFI distributor that came with the EFI cars to work without the computer. You could go back one generation and go with a duraspark setup, but that's a bit of a hassle with wiring and all. I think the cheapest and easiest way would be to grab a points distributor, throw a Jacobs electronic conversion in place of the points and then I believe the only thing you'll need is start and run wiring from the ignition switch. Clean, simple, and readily available.

You could get fancy and go with a Mallory Pro Billet distributor for a round $350.00 bucks or so and combine it with a Mallory Hi-Fire ignition box and coil. It would be a neat addition to a kit car and might give you a little bump in performance or at the very least, a strong ignition to handle anything you do to the motor later on.
