The crankcase breather keeps coming loose on my 2.3, and it leaks oil. It just pushes into the block with a tapered fit. Seems like kind of a poor design. Does anybody know of something better I could buy, or a permanent fix for this problem other than something like j.b. weld or epoxy. Seems to me some racers should have had this similar problem. Thanks in advance.

Thanks to the moderator, I realized I posted in the wrong area after I posted. Also, thanks to sleeper for his reply. Mine is kinda' beat up. I'll go to the parts store and see if I can get a new one.

How much blowby do you have? If you start your car and take off the oil cap and put your hand over the hole do you feel a significant amount of air pressure coming out? If you do then you have blowby. The rings or valve guides are leaking compression into the cranckcase and pressurizing it. The pressure then can force your breather out of the hole, path of least resistance. Only fix is to rebuild the engine. You will start using oil and getting oil leaks at all the seals as the pressure tries to find an escape.
