Hello...About a month ago I took my mustang to a shop to have it tuned up. Spark plugs/wires, breaks, struts, shocks, and a timing belt. I also told the guy to check the fuel pressure and put a new fuel Filter on it because it lost power drastically. When he was putting the timing belt on he said the harmonic balancer was wore out which was causing it to get out of time. to this day I have still not found the "2 way harmonic balancer" that is needed for my car.

I ordered one from auto zone, but in only has 1 keyway. By keyway I'm talking about the thing that plugs into the crankshaft(I think so anyways. I'm not really a car buff) I've called every junkyard in my area and ever ouside my area, but I still can't find that part. Most junk yards have told me that they would sell me the whole engine before just selling the harmonic balancer. Any ideas on where I could get this "2 keyway" harmonic balancer? I would take a picture of it and post it but I let my uncle have it to see if he could find another one like it.

It basically has a normal sized keyway, and a smaller one right beside it.

Get your car out of that shop and NEVER, EVER, EVER take another vehicle there.

There is no harmonic balancer on a 2.3L Ford. There is hub that slides on the crank very similar to a harmonic balancer, but it's only function is to adapt the accessory drive pullies to the the front of the crank. The timing belt is on a separate pulley independent of the hub and has no relation to the crank hub other than the pulley sits behind it on the crank snout.

Someone's trying to make a buck off of you. That pisses me off!

If you really want to just spend the money anyway get an under drive pully set. Make sure it dosen't have a harmonic ballencer with it though
