Let me see if I can remember this well enough to explain it.
There are two switches that I remember on the clutch pedal mechanism. One was the starter interlock switch and the other was used to disengage the cruise control if you pushed the clutch in.
All of the articles I read mentioned that the plugs were capped with jumpers. They weren't real specific beyond that. What I did was find the jumpered plugs in the harness near the switches and then remove one jumper at a time until I found one that would keep the car from starting. When I found the right one, I plugged it into the switch on the pedal assembly. This will only work if you have already taken care of the wiring underneath the car or haven't removed the automatic and the wiring is still connected to the
trans.
Remember to keep the car in neutral (or in park if the automatic is still in place.)
I wish I could be more help, but its been a couple of years since I did mine. I do remember that it took me about 9 hrs to do the
trans swap. I did the pedals the weekend before the
trans swap. So between the two, figure a full weekend.
Maybe I'll go read a couple of those articles and see if it jogs my memory.
