Default 1989 Mustang 2.3 wont start

Hi all,
I am trying to help a young lad who has an 89 Mustang with a 2.3 that wont start. I told him about this site but he doesn't have a computer. The car has a fuel injected 2.3. It will run if you spray starting fluid in the throttle body. The pump is working and there is 40# of pressure at the line. Has performance coil and the computer and injectors were changed. Has spark. Does this year have a crank position sensor? If it does, how can he check it to see if it's bad? Or maybe you guys know of other problems with these motors. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Its a distributer car. Check to make sure there isn't crap in the filter and that everything is plugged in.

Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster

I'm not talking about the coil. I'm saying his car has a distributer and his fuel filter might be getting plugged up

Hi again,
I'll let you know what he finds, isn't gonna be the filter. Was changed and as I said in the original post it has 40 pound of fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Thanks anyway.
