Default 1983 Mustang Leaking C3 Transmission

I am putting a 1983 L Mustang back on the road after setting for the last seven years. I have replaced most all the belts, replaced all the fluids,tune-up and done the obvious repairs.
There is a small leak of transmission fluid coming from access cover for the torque converter. What would cause a leak in this area? Looking at breakdown of the transmission I do not see a seal but four O-rings around the pump shaft. Would fluid be getting by all four O-rings? Am I missing something?
The leak may be one ounce when the car is parked after driving. Thanks for Comments.

Its sounding like either something has failed or seals have rooted and need replacing

Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster

There's a seal at the front of the transmission where the torque converter snout slides into the front pump. If you drop the trans and slide the converter out, you'll see it.

Thanks b_chandler!!
I thought there should be a lip seal around the torque converter shaft but my Hayes manual never says anything about replacing it.

Glad I could help. Sucks you gotta drop the trans though.

Check that converter snout for wear where the seal rides. If it's bad, now is the time for a speedy sleeve. I R&R'd a 700R4 4 friggen times because it kept pouring trans fluid out of the inspection cover. Turned out to be a bad weld where the snout meets the converter body. But before I found that, I polished the snout with emory cloth, put a speedy sleeve on the snout, even shimmed between the converter and the flywheel to get the seal to ride on a different part of the snout. Bottom line is that yanking the tranny out is no picnic. Do what you need to do to only do it once.
