disconnect the battery for an hour and reconnect, while battery is disconnected, check every single harness and make sure they aren't chafed, split, or burned; and make sure they're all connected tightly, I threw $200 at a 5.0 with the same symptoms and it ended up being a loose connector for the fuel injector harness (the big one that all of the injector wiring runs through, 2.3s have the same kind of connector) at the back of the engine.
