Sounds like the turn signal arm has quit on you. Replace that and you'll be fine. There's 4 harnesses going to it and it tends to burn out eventually.

This sounds like an unrelated question, but does your blower work ?

I had the same issue with my '91, but the blower motor wouldn't work either. I hit a bump one day on the way to work and they all started working again. I traced the problem to a bad ignition switch. In fact, I drove it for another month that way, all I had to do was turn the ignition key back just a little and everything would work.

Sounds silly, but I wouldn't post it if it hadn't happened.

Default Ignition switch, turn signal

Your turn signal blinker is located behind the glove box and not in the fuse panel. The one in the fuse panel is for the hazard lights. Try replacing the turn signal blinker O'rielly has them in stock for a couple $. If that does not work your ignition switch could be going bad. The ignition swicth is not the lock and key itself (don't let the retards at autozone try to tell you all the connections are made in the lock and key, like they did to me), but a seperate switch mounted on the steering column(sold at Autozone for about $10). The switch has tamper resistant torx head screws holding it in place and a big wire harness quick connect plugging into the switch. This switch controls components like the turn signals (not hazards), and blower motor. I know because I just replaced mine. I was having trouble with the turn signals not working and the blower not coming on.
