Default Removing 2.3l Camshaft and lifters

I have a Chilton manual that says to jack up the engine to get the camshaft out. I think it would be easier to remove the radiator. Any sugetions would be appriciated. I have a noisy lifter(or 2) when the engine is cold. The motor sat for almost 2 years. I have drove it for 4 months now and it's not gotten any better or worse.

I dunno, undo two bolts and put a block of wood between the jack and the pan

or.

Remove the fan, Drain the radiator, undo the hoses, remove the radiator.

The big question should be : Do you have the means to get to the two screws that hold the camshaft retaining plate on at the back of the last cam tower?

I've taken the cam out without unbolting the engine, or radiator

The sad thing is, with 15 PSI, straight back exhaust, and a bobs log, it still feels slow...

Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster
