Hi I already pulled my trans for a pump seal, I screwed up and forced it together, had to pry the input shaft put of the torque converter. Thought it was OK now sequels when car is running in any gear. My question is what other cars used a a4ld with a 3 wire plug. That I can swap into my 93. Not sure if I can fix the original I can try but real fun doing this on ramps in the driveway. I'd like to keep it auto I have a 91 5.0 GT mustang that's manual but need the auto for a backup car for family if another car breakdown. Easier than teaching my family to drive a stick and definitely would not teach them on my 91.
91-93 mustang is what you're looking for (some 91's the early ones may not be a 3 wire trans though) I know rangers used a different version of the trans but I forgot what year it started...
Your best bet is a 92-93 and the later 91's just to be safe... Kinda sucks you're pretty limited..
Thanks may have to go to a 2.3 T5 if I can't find an a4ld. Local lkq gets mustangs but hard to find 92-93. I can try a rebuild but never really messed with transmissions before tried to save money and do the pump seal myself. I should have paid the money to let a transmission place do it and I screwed this up. Hopefully I'll find a 91-93 2.3 lx in the junk yard. Thanks for your help
I am a long ways off. UpState NY. Have a A4LD from a 92 LX. shifted fine. Took it out and transplanted a t5 and a Turbo 2.3L. Maybe we can come up with a deal:smile:
