Default How much boost?

Hi. I'm a new member here. I just bought this project truck fom a guy who just couldn't finish it. It has the svo turbo motor in it with a T3/T4 turbo. I just put in a DFI thruster computer to run the engine. I'm going to tune the truck next week. In your experience. How much boost should the motor take on 93 octane?

it depends on if you have forged pistons or not. the amount of fuel your fuel pumg is giving along with the injectors.

It depends on fuel pump, injectors, intercooler, timing, etc.

I'm running 15psi on a non intercooled 2.3 turbo on 87 octane, but I have my knock sensor plugged in

Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster

I was told it was rebuilt with forged parts. The fuel pump and injectors have been upgraded. It has a huge front mount intercooler from a F250 powerstroke. At my shop we also have an 86 svo that is pretty stock including internals, turbo, injectors, and intercooler. On 93 octane it sees 16 psi @ 5k rpm. It has not blown up yet. It's a daily driver. 70k origanal miles and never rebuilt. So if the A/F is good with no detonation and i dont get greedy with the timing........ 20 psi? More?

The T3 turbo is only good till 23 PSI then it only makes heat

I'm only making 160HP right now though. I have a PK computer, small VAM, and little timing. PK computer has a VERY rich fuel table, so thats why I think I'm getting away with 87 octane fuel.

If you have a big intercooler you'll be just fine

Felpro 1035 head gasket a truly flat block and head
and 28 is not unrealistic I run 21 plus and have run full boost flat out all that my t3/t4 hybrid could push possibly over 30psi on premium pump. note a stock head gasket will not do.
Diamond forged pistons 8 to1 ams H-beam rods 93 dp head MSII computer volvo ic 2 escort edis igniton modules 255 lph pump 65# injectors 260 .470 lift cam .
