Default 2005+ Mustang GT 4.6L 3V Substitute Spark Plugs?

I've been told that the recommended spark plugs of the Mustang GT are the OEM only (Pep boys and JBA). However, I was wondering if there are any other spark plugs out there available for the 4.6L 3V engine...
If anyone could get me out of that doubt, its greatly appreaciated.

There are no spark plug alternatives other than those kenneth mentioned in the above post.

Welcome to the forum if there's anything you need to know you will find it here. If it hasen't already been done it's in the procces. Briskracing say's they have a plug for n/a 3v mustang's part number 3vr17ys. There plug's require no special tool to set the gap and there a one piece plug so you can't brake them off in the head's. For power adder's a colder plug part number 3vr14s is avaliable. Haven't used them this is per briskracing.

Be very careful removing the stock plug. Other are reporting that they break off easily and the heads might have to come off to get the broken pieces out. $$$$$$$$$

Be careful !!!

How many miles do you have on the stock plugs?

I have around 15,000 miles on my original plugs. However, I added ceramic headers from Ford Racing X-pipe and mufflers and a friend keeps recommending me to add better spark plugs to gain more power...

Even if there were other plugs out there you could buy, I don't think changing plug brands would do much. You can upgrade your coils (COPS) or add a spark booster box to get a hotter spark, but unless your blown or heavily moddified as NA, you don't really need either one of those either. You need to get the car tuned if those headers are long tubes...that will get you the power you want.

I am going to try to take my car to JBA and have them do a Dino-Tunning to get the most out of my car with the few mod's that I made. That's essentially what they told me at JBA that no big difference could occur if I changed the spark plugs.

I appreaciate your answer...

Thanks

It looks like Champion has a new one piece plug for the 3V 5.4L engines.

you just have shorty headers right? I would say 15hp total from your exhaust set up, 7 from your headers and 7 for your mid pipe...

There should be no reason to go to a colder plug right now. I know a few guys who are FI running stock plugs.
