2005 Mustang GT: having a wierd rattle comming from shifter ok i have a hurst shifter i recently had a clutch put in.. the car shift and runs fine but when getting to 3500 rpm im getting a rattle could my shifter be loose??? and its nt a specific gear but when i get to 4000 to 5000 rpm it goes away. what should i check for???? it just started and its a little annoying

I would make sure the shifter is tight . I would also check the exhaust to see if it is hitting anything.

My hurst did that at first. The two bolts, on the arm just under the boot, were loose. I tightened them up and no issues since then

Be sure to use loctite on those bolts, too. It'll keep them from coming loose in the future.

Mine just started doing this, too...again. It seems like about every six months I have to retighten the bolts. No big thing.

every hurst shifter i ever had rattled, now i just go with the pro 5.0 and no issues

If the bolts on the lever don't fix it, you may need to check to see if it's installed tight on the tunnel.

I had the same problem, but it was the exhaust not the shifter! the passenger side x-pipe or stock h-pipe was hitting a heat sheild stud.
