I'm going in for a race tune in a few weeks, and we will tune the race tune in open loop so I can pull my front 02s so the leaded gas won't destroy them. Does anyone know how the car drives with open loop set all the time? I really will only be driving to the track like this, but I was just wondering if anyone else has any experience. Is it kind of like driving a pre emission car?

I ran my 1996 Gt in open loop for a few years but mine was a "track only" car.....now at the track it ran fine down the 1/ mile, on the return road and around the pits...

It's doable but am told it's tough to get it perfect.

Jon actually said it would be easier to tune.

I have not driven my car in a month. I need to get back to the track.

Not sure on the Ford stuff, but on GM's it's easier to tune in speed density first to get the fuel maps close, and then in open loop.
