Base for most "flavors" of S/C will run you around 5K or so (unless you're looking for turbo, which you said you weren't).

It's the OTHER mods that will cost you some dough (e.g., clutch, engine, transmission, driveshaft) if you do them too, as some recommend you do before bolting on that kind of power.

On the otherhand, Ford gives you the Whipple option up to 500 HP and makes NO recommendation for other mods.

I would still recommend some supporting mods but if you install the supercharger yourself, your looking at just the price of the supercharger you choose and probably $300 to have it dyno tuned somewhere which i would recommend over just the mail-order tune.

Lets put it this way, my turbo cost around $7k altogether not including supporting mods. That was having someone else install and tune, the install would be less on a supercharger so you might be lucky to only spend $6k

I'd say most SC packages will run you about 5-6k. The ones closer to 6k have more complete packages(fuel pumps, etc).

Add another 600-800 bucks for a professional to install it. Maybe about 250 for a custom dyno tune(but it's not absolutely necessary).

All said and done, you could be looking at 6-7k.

But chances are if you really wanna mash the gas, you're gunna eventually need to invest in some control arms and sticky tires if you want traction.

It gets to be like a run away train. After you start you will want more and more. twOscopps123 is correct traction becomes an issue.

try calling places that are not overly close to you, where you live might be expensive, i live in one of the most expensive counties in maryland so i called a place (evolution) in a different state and they quoted me $1300 for install on a turbo which is more difficult then the supercharger when the place in maryland quoted me $2100 and they had never installed this turbo before or even worked on a new v6

If you went with a base Procharger P1-SC-1 you could easily do it yourself and save the install cost.

Ford is always overpriced on everything. Go to a professional tuner.

Ford wanted like 4 grand to put a 2008 stock stereo in my car(cuz I was curious about getting a sirius unit that was built in). I'd never have a Ford shop install anything in my car.

11k for supporting mods (suspension, engine, exhaust)
6.5k for supercharger and upgrades (tuner kit, sheet metal IC and bov)
1k for Pumps and Duel Baps
.5k for Injectors
.5k for Tuning hardware (tuner and maf)
.5k for Tune

Total=20k

and to say it all started with a bolt on s/c that was possible to just be one a stock block lol

O I was forced to spend that money because my engine blew up. So I had to get the new engine and then I had wheel hope so bad it damaged my rear end so I had to get rear suspension and all the other stuff is just to support the S/C. My plan was to just spend 7k to get the kit and install it but we can see how it did not work out that way

5275 for whipple HO kit(installed it myself)
800 for cobal boost, wideband, 8lb pulley and sos gauge pod
370 for thump_rrr tensioner
250 for VMP tune
100-150 for misc. items for the install
----------------------------------------
6795 give or take total and i havent even upgraded the tires, wheels, clutch or suspension oh well, she is a blast to drive. 331 gears work good with traction if you are not mashing the throttle, going to go with 373 one day after all the above are done.
