the best thing to do is turn off your radio, remove your cds and make sure everything is off. once my died on me and i took the car to several different shops and two brand new batteries later, the dealer said, "turn your radio off before you turn the car off." sounds dumb but its worked now for two years. my car is driven everyday. once that battery died there was no jumping it, nothing helped it until i put a new battery in it. sad part is i didnt know about the radio trick until the second battery died.

Very bad idea. Firstly unless you put something on the gas pedal to make the car rev to 1500rpm+ it won't charge. Secondly starting a motor after it has been sitting for log periods of time is the worst time to start a motor. All the oil has drained out of the motor into the pan (this can take weeks) so when you start up there is a lot less oil in the motor than normal and it takes a while for it to get there. When you start it it heats up and you get a lot of condensation inside the motor and exhaust. Unless you run the motor long and hard enough that condensation will not boil off and stay in the motor (It takes a long time for the oil to get hot enough to boil the water out of it). And there are 10 other little reasons too. Unless you are going to start the car and go drive it as you normally would don't start it.

The above advice is another perfect example of bad information passed along on the net as if it were coming from an expert. Don't believe everything you read kids.

I purchased a battery tender and wired in the supplied pig tail for hook up. My battery is in the trunk so I ran the pig tail out the trunk vet just a bit. When I park the car I simply plug it I and the battery is getting charged the whole time its parked.

With all the money we spend on our cars doing mods, etc I find it kinda silly that everyone doesn’t have a $60 Battery Tender.

I run tenders on everything I have. Most batteries last me 5+ years. And I have motorcycles ad they go through a battery in most cases once a year.
