I wonder if the uca was torqued to spec? No grease makes sense about the squeaking. I also wonder if all the bolts where torqued to spec. -2 is in the realm of OK, I doubt that is it . What speeds are you getting vibrations now?

I felt the vib right from a fairly hard start. My son took it to school and felt it on the highway. Steeda says to torque the front and rear trailing arm mounting bolts to factory specs 129ft/lbs Che recommends 100 ft/lbs but that's w/ their mount and arm. Also, Che says to torque the upper UCA bolt under the back seat to 100 ft/lbs and factory is 129ft/lbs.
I have no idea what the shop torqued the bolts at.
The slightest pressure on the rocker makes it squeak though now.

I torqued mine to 129 ft/lbs. I would grease the bushing on the Uca and see if it goes away. I would also check all of the bolts on the rear suspension, check torque. What speed on the highway?

Right when putting the gas on. Rolling about 30 MPH and then giving gas to get on the highway. I'm not sure what speed my son found it at. I'll ask him after school. No texting at school! LOL

I don’t know if someone brought this up but you want to grease up the threads on the bolts before you torque them. If you don’t you will get false torque readings.

Kid just called … vibration from a dead stop … every red light he can feel it. Che said to torque the front and rear arm bolts to 129 ft/lbs not the 100 ft/lbs for their arm. The bolt under the seat Che has at 100 ft/lbs … 129 ft/lbs is the factory. I don't know what to do w/ this one.

Torque everything to factory spec. Even if you don't torque the UCA at ride height (it is a PITA because of all the stuff in the way), you shouldn't be getting those vibes.

Pinion angle seems to vary from car to car. Are you lowered? I'd try adjusting it from -2 to -1 and in between. -1 is about as good as I can get it with little vibes, but it starts hard at 90mph.

To decrease the angle, you need to shorten the control arm. If you were laying on your back with your head towards the front of the car, you'd want to loosen the jam nut and turn the adjuster to the LEFT (your left). To lengthen it, you'd turn it to your RIGHT. Again, this is with your head facing the front of the car. I actually wrote a little reminder on the frame of the car so I would remember in case I ever need to adjust it again.

LOL, good idea! The kid said he hit a bump on the way home and felt something shift. The squeaking is gone? WTF! I stood on the rocker panel and did knee bends … nada. I'm not sure on the vib though. I will insist the shop grease and re-torque to factory spec and check the pinion angle. I asked if they had the gauges to check. "yes"
I'm going to buy some anyways. They will come in handy for an outrigger install on a boat soon.
Thanks for the info not lowered

Just got back from checking out the car. Re-torqued it all and added grease (no fitting on the Steeda adjustable upper) weird, it shows one in the instructions.
Pinion angle was way off. The car is smooth from a quick start now and the 60-65 MPH highway vib I've been fighting for 3 years is also gone …NFI on that one.

Maybe when the shop installed the UCA, they didn't bother to set the angle. You'd think they would, but a lot of times, if you don't tell them, they likely won't do it. Guess that's fair. Wouldn't want them doing something you didn't ask for. Glad to hear you got it all worked out.

Thanks bigwilly,
They just measured the Steeda adjustable upper to match the factory UCA. It was angled towards the rear I think +5º. The car is now smoother and I'm actually surprised No hop and a nice grab the road feeling now. The Che upper powder coat on the mount caused a bit of a problem w/ the new factory bolts. The washer that's welded on the bolt was hitting on the mount and had to be grounde down a bit.
