Default exhaust leak??? 2007 Mustang GT

I installed FRPP Stingers on my stang, and no matter how much I tighten the band clamps that came with them, they still leak. Has anyone used the JEGS preformed band clamp? Do they work?

Are you sure the alignment nipple is in the slot properly and not preventing the muffler pipe from sealing?

I would also suggest welding instead of another clamp if everythign is right.

Yes, the nipple is aligned in the slot. I hate the idea of welding, makes changing a lot harder, but if that is what it takes . . .

What you need to do is check out the Dynomax Torctite Band Clamp. Make sure it is the Torctite. If you don't want to weld, this is an alternative. I have used them before and they work well, but they aren't cheap. As long as the pipe fits snug, they will work. I think we need the 2 1/2 inch clamp. Stainless steel too. Here is the link.

Thanks! That looks like a great alternative. Any idea how they compare with the JEGS clamp?

torctite a one size fits all? I'd like to replace clamps on my other vehicle that has a Borla exhaust.

JEGS Preformed Stainless Steel Exhaust Band Clamps - JEGS

They are most likely made by Dynomax and sold under Jegs because they look almost identical. The lap joint style clamps vary between a few different designs, but the best are the Torctite or Jegs design.

Torctite are NOT a one size fits all, they are sold to fit whatever size you need. For example, the 2 1/2 inch clamp we need has a step down to it to fit the inside and outside pipe very snug and create a 360 degree seal.

Pypes makes a similar clamp. Not the best for installing an axleback.

Ordered the Torctite. Hopefully this takes care of it.
