Default '07 Mustang GT - Lowering kit advice please

Does anyone have a perpective on the FRPP FR3 Handling package? How about alternatives?

Thanks

Best bang for the buck out there. It’s built as system which is very important for suspensions. It’s all about balance. The ride is more aggressive but not near “race car”. The only time I think of it is when I am going over evenly spaced pavement “slabs” on the freeway. But most cars are like that anyway. The suspension’s ability to control the mass of the car is great. The suspension is good enough for anything you could dream of doing on a public road, plenty good for track days or autocross and probably good enough for some racers.

But if you just want to lower the car and you don’t intend on overdriving the stock suspension (which most people can’t do, even though they think they can) just get a set of springs from BMR or something. They will give you the look you want and you don’t need to spend a pile of money

Default FRPP VS BMR Pack, pros and cons

I have been looking at the FRPP also. I have been comparing that to the BMR Handling pack. Similiar in cost, but you can find nice deals on the FRPP 3.

Still trying to decide weather to go with a Watts Link, most likely the Fay. Saleen is an option, but the cost keep mounting up.
If I do i still would want to lower the car and that would include springs.

I hate the rear hop when pushing the car. Looks like I would need the BMR rear control also.

I do want to thank all the great info on this site, it has taught me alot these past months.

Rear control arms are a must. There are a bunch of different brands out there but the board consensus seems to be that the CHE are the ones to get. Go for the fixed length lowers and an adjustable upper with urethane bushings on both ends. You will want an adjustable Panhard Rod too.

All that Watts link and Torque arm stuff is great, but way too much overkill for anything short of a full blown race car. I can assure you that you would rather climb out a window at speed than go through a corner with me driving my car with the FFRP kit on it. I am a borderline criminal when taking my driving on public roads into account. I am very well trained and have tons of track time and natural talent. And I wouldn’t for a second upgrade my suspension any further unless someone gave me the money to do it and I had to spend it on the suspension.

Spend some money on a GREAT set of tires, better yet two. That will do more for how you car works than anything else you can do to it. And if you are still dying to spend even more money on it go take some driving schools. There is nothing like track time and a stack of tires to make your car work better.

Default Sway Bars

Are the sway bars that much more helpful than the stock ones?
I was thinking I could forgo those for now and add those on later.

The FRPP has the strut tower brace, is that critcal also?

This is my daily driver that I want to Mod for street use.
It will never get on the drag strip.
Just want to enjoy the winding roads at top speed.
Maybe will see road courses for the fun and training.

Not that significant of a difference.

Default Roush Approach

I used the Roush Kit, Lowered my GT/Cs about an inch below what it was befre. Also seems to appears lower in the front. By the way, I also put on the Roush Strut tower brace because I have the Supercharger and wanted the increased stiffness. I attached the link for pictures on another thread. Hooaah Popey
