In the tank or through the intake?

I put it in the tank. I've used STP octane booster before. And was hoping that if the plugs started to collect carbon that maybe seafoam would reverse it. Just a thought.

Hey Doug,

Don't feel bad I did the same thing to my '06 GT two years ago. I put some of that 104+ crap in my car...man did the Stang run like crap. It took two techs to figure it out and he
was from the Ford dealer not the big name speed job that tuned the car. My car was dyno
tuned for 91 octane when I added the octane
booster of course the octane level increased but not my timing which threw everything off
and fouled my plugs. When you car is tuned to a certain octane us that level octane and nothing higher. I had to drive out all that gas
and refill my tank with 91 and not mess with it
anymore. My car dynoed at 320 RWHP I was
just being greedy. NO octane boost just 91 gas.

If the plugs are fouled bad, nothing short of pulling them and cleaning will help. If you're in doubt, pull one from each bank and inspect.

I never noticed it running badly. It seemed fine, I did this as a precation more then anything else. I guess I was wondering if it was to make an improvement how long would it take to feel it. I'm the second owner and as soon as I get it I started modding it so I really how no baseline to go off of.

Researched out the Sea Foam fuel additive and found that its pretty much a home brew material. Probably could make your own pretty easily for whole lot less than $6.95 per pint. www.seafoamsales.com/pdf/MSDS_DC14_US.pdf
Pale oil is just mineral oil like people take as a laxative. Sh*ts out the carbon so to speak. Use the paint grade isopropol alcohol not the 70% drug store stuff[too much water]. 50/30/25 ratio seems to hit the mix about perfect for fuel, don't know about trans mix.
As far as fuel system cleaners, I've had really good results for 20 years using the cheap Walmart Tech 2000 brand, it's made by Ashland oil[Valvoline] and has always done a good job of keepin' my cars clean inside. However, I've had mixed to poor results over the years with so called "cleaner gasolines". I'm not sure they put enough detergent in to do a proper job. I've found Fords to be plauged with intake valve buildup, don't know about Chevies, it's against family policy.

I run furniture polish in mine. You get more HP, and a lemon fresh sent from the tail pipes.

The reason I fill the tanks is to keep the insides from getting surface rust.
Our current tanks are plastic but filling the tank prevents the fuel from going to fumes, thus keeping it stable longer.

When you say you drain the tank, do you mean you dispose of the fuel that had been sitting in the tank or do you run it through until empty, then refule with fresh stuff.

I doubt most of us have a way to dispose of 16 to 20 gallons of gas.
