Do they resonate? I'm actually pretty easy to please as long as they don't resonate excessively.
I had 2-chamber Flowmasters on my '86 Mustang. I loved the sound of them but HATED them on the highway. They resonated so bad they'd cause me to start grinding my teeth. I had Mac's on my '00 and really liked them all around. In town or on the highway. I was all set to put them on my '07 but I read so many post about how they drone on the S197 I decided not to even try them.
... It's like asking what's your favorite food... everyone loves their own favorite... lol
Love my boomtubes... they're excellent sounding axlebacks.

Pick up a set of mufflers, NEW from Ford, have the dealer slap 'em in and you'll have ZERO problems with them.
Thanks but I think I'll pass. GTA's might be the greatest thing since sliced bread but not the one's I have on my car. Two hangers have broken off in the past couple months. Not a broken weld but the metal lip has actually torn off. Used or new, that doesn't exactly fill me with confidence in these mufflers. I did a quick search and found a thread that describes the exact same problem
Quote:
... Tonight I was cruising along slowly and I heard a tapping and creaking sound. When I got under the ride to check it out, I found that the passenger side rear hanger for my GTA/Supreme mufflers was coming off. It seems the weld has cracked and it is rattling. I got the mufflers from Nino Motorsports, but they are the same as the Ford GTA's. Anybody else have this happen? It looks like I can drag out the MIG welder and just tack it but it is a pain. ...

... I had the exact same problem with mine on both side and after the shop welded them for the 2nd time and they broke again they offered me a full refund torwards any other muffler so I went with Bassani tubes. and I love them-Kudos to Dallas Mustang ! ...

I like the GTA's but I'm not about to go down the same road twice.

No drone at highway speeds... just a meaty sound. Not too loud, not too soft.
BTW - I can't vouch for the longevity of them, I've only had them on 4-5 months, maybe... so I have no idea if they'll be falling off like yours anytime soon - and if they do, it'll give me an excuse to shop for the Stang lol Bought mine at ninosport's ebay shop - they were extremely professional and I had them in a few days.

Anyone who has GTA's with problems and bought them from a reputable shop such as Nino's should consider going back to them. I have read several posts where Nino's has replaced those with hanger problems.
Both hangers on the passenger's side muffler gave out yesterday on my way to work. I put the stock mufflers back on last night. The main part of the body of the gta's didn't look bad and the tips look great but the leading and trailing edges of the muffler looked pretty ratty. The hangers that came off had taken a chunk of the edge of the muffler with them.
Well it's back to the stock exhaust for now. Christmas is coming though. I think I'm leaning towards the FRPP Stingers...

The Stingers have a great sound and will be My next muffler upgrade.
