Unhappy GTA's falling apart!

I bought GTA's via ebay. I like the sound and the tips look great. The problem is they are falling apart. Aways back the rear hanger on the driver's side muffler broke off. It looked as if the hanger was attached onto the rolled lip of the muffler and the lip of the muffler tore off. I had it welded on and it seemed alright. Today I notice that the passenger side tailpipe was cockeyed. I took a look and the front hanger was gone and the lip of the muffler was torn off! I brought it in and had another hanger welded on. The guy that welded the hanger on just called to tell me it's ready. He also said the mufflers are falling apart. He check out the other two hanger and it looks like the lip of the muffler is starting to tear on those two also...

Anyway, I asked him if he carried aftermarket muffers. He said he has Corsa and Magnaflow. I told him I did not want mufflers that drone. He told me he had talked to a Vette owner that he had installed Corsas on. The guy loved them and said they didn't drone at all. I asked about a price and he said he'd have to get back to me with one.

I checked on Brenspeed and they're showing $800! (That's a little rich for my blood for a pair of mufflers)

Does that price sound about right?

Any opinions on the Corsa's?

Any other suggestion as far as non-droning mufflers?

Opinions on the Pype Violators?

Thanks

Corsa's make very nice sounding axlebacks and anything over 400ish is too much IMO. Most axleback are less than $400, SLP LM's actually are in the $200's last i checked

Have you heard them in person? What's your opinion on them? I thought the LM's were pretty loud.

I have had my Corsa's for over 2 years now and still love them.
800.00 does seem a little high.
I paid 594.99 with free shipping.
There price now is 700.00.
Good luck

corsa's sound nice in person, very meaty! However, they win the prize for being the "MOST EXPENSIVE AXLE BACKS" for the S197 mustangs... I have heard the no drone story, but personally like when I can hear my mufflers rattling my brain haha

My GTA's are solid as a rock!

I'll bet you got Counterfeits off eBay.

Maybe but I'm not alone. It sounds like this guy had the exact same problem.

My buddy has the Corsa's and they are very nice (little to no drone), but I agree they are way too pricey.

If you are interested in loudmouths, you can probably get them used at a GREAT price. Alot of people end up selling them after modding their mid-pipe and headers (too loud). You dont have to worry about them falling apart as they are 304 steel, and empty on the inside

Yes I did. (Speculating) I'm thinking it's possible that the multiple installs, being shipped around, and the "adjustments" I made to get them to fit just right could have stressed the points that the hangers attach to the mufflers.

I have a feeling the loudmouths would be louder than I'm looking for.

One of the guys in my local club has the Corsas. They have a deep sound like our GTA's but I don't know if I'd want to spend that much.

I say, go for the Corsa axle-back.

If you are like me, you will try another brand instead of just buying the Corsa in the first place.

I tried, GTA's, Bassani, and then.....Corsa. I am very satisfied...now.

Corsa's are nice but way overpriced. I would think the Magnaflows would be as close to the GTAs as you could get.

Thanks for the response.
I'm assuming you're referring to these
MUSTANG GT STREET AXLEBACK MAGNAFLOW (05-08)
as opposed to these?
MUSTANG GT MAGNAPACK CATBACK SYSTEM MAGNALFOW (05-08)

Did you find that the Stingers resonated at speed? (Did you ever have just the Stingers or did they come later?) Truth be told, I really did like the GTAs and loved that they didn't drone but found them a little on the quite side. If/when I do replace them (for now I'm going to wait and see if another hanger pops off) I wouldn't mind going with something a little louder as long as it didn't resonate. Thanks again.
