Default 2005 mustang hood pin HELP

I recently purchased a new IPP carbon fiber hood with the heat extractors. The design of the hood forces the hood pins to the far sides of the hood not the conventional spot all the kits are designed for. My question is has anyone else put this style hood on and where do I get the proper kit at? The hood starts to float bad at 60 mph and I don't want to ruin an $850.00 hood! Also, after drilling the hood any suggestions on a sealer around the frayed carbon edges? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a pic of the hood so we can see what your talking about.

Thumbs up pin help

Thank you very much 7gt/cs for the help. That is the exact spot I found when I went exploring under my hood last night. Question, how did you get the bottom nuts inside the frame for the pins and where did you purchase the pins from?? Thanks again for your helpful photos!!!

You can unscrew the hood bumpers (black thingy next to the hood pin), put some grease on your finger and stick the nut on your finger and ease it through the bumper hole and under the hood pin. If you put a lock washer on with the nut it should hold well enough for you to get it tightened, Just don't forget to set the hood pin depth with the top nut before tightening the bottom nut or it'll be a bear to adjust later.

+1 on that. If you look at the bumper stops, you see I had to cut the hole a little bigger to get the nut thru.

Purchase the pins from Shelby Performance. They have the adapters included (ones they use on the Shelby GT) but with my hood lip, could not use it the adapter. However, I liked the pins from Shelby cuz I wanted the top black to match the hood../.not chrome like I seen at other sites. They cost approx. $100....but you can get cheaper hood pins at Jegs or Summitt for $39-50.
While you're at it, install the MRT hood struts and throw away your prop rod.

Ring Brothers pins also mount outboard from the center, in the same location as the hood bumpers (actually, it replaces those with the pin). Can't advise for sealing the frayed CF edges, maybe some sort of 2-part epoxy or resin would work?

Thanks everybody for the advice. Ordered the pins and windshield squirter relocation kit. Hope to install all as soon as they come in. I'll let you know how it came out.
