Default Roush 225CC CNC Ported Cylinder Heads

I dont know if anybody would have the answer for this but I will ask anyway.

I have found 3 different models of Cylinder heads for my mustang and was wondering what HP and Torque differences would be for all three models and which head do you think is worth the money.

Roush 185CC CNC Ported Cylinder Heads
only $2672.27

Roush 205CC CNC Ported Cylinder Heads
only $2909.66

Roush 225CC CNC Ported Cylinder Heads
only $3310.92

Pretty much I am looking to build my motor right So I was also looking to get the "2005-09 Mustang GT Roush P51 Engine & TVS Supercharger Kit - 510HP" (Which does not come with heads or Cams so I would obviously change the Cam as well)

What gains am I looking at on the above mentions block and charger kit with the above mention heads?

Or is this all stupid and I should just buy a complete engine kit? Any thought or suggestion would be appreciated.

Get a shortblock and forget the cams if you're going to add a supercharger.

How much does a port and polish job cost?

I got my heads done for 700 and new valves and springs are nice if you want to make some power, which will run you another 700 and then a set of head studs is about 200 and you should be good to go. Thats what i did with my set up and could not be happier.

i am running the stock cams with my car and with your power level and that blower there is no reason to go to a different cam. if you had a turbo car and making big power then a cam with a special grind is needed but with your set up its a waste of money for what you an make up by just adding more boost.

also no offense but do you just like spending money or do you have to have only roush because you can get a more efficient set up and save probably a grand or two buy going with a different type of build

I wish, I am just looking at all the posibilities. with the roush stuff you get a pretty good warranty plus it would make my car all roush. If you know of a better setup that would achieve my goals that would be great. I have been looking at so many different things and flopping back and forth because there are so many differnt options out there and it can get kind of overwhelming. I figured a kit would be the easiest way to go.

MMR Short Block 5.0 3100$
Head P&P and hardware 1400$
Whipple 3.4L from ST 7200$

Then you have a monster that can handle 700rwhp as a daily on pump gas.

Also, I see by your profile that you have a procharger. any reason you would push the whipple instead of a procharger?

for me no i love my procharger i would run a F1-R over a a 3.4L whipple but I just felt that you liked twin screws sense you wanted the roush blower and im not one to tell people what to get cause i perfer it.

But with a built block there is no reason why you shouldnt run either a 3.4L Whipple or a F1 Procharger or Even a custom T-76 turbo.

Get a bigger S/C with a built block those baby procharger P1's and whipple 2.4L are nothing to the other monsters that you can get. I cant wait to get ride of my small P1 and get a F1R.

Prochargers are a GREAT S/C and are capable of over 1000rwhp on race fuel. you can build a 800rwhp DD with an F1 no problem. But any thing over 700 is complete over kill shoot 600 is nice for a DD if you can handle it.

As for your other parts yeah the 04 cobra block i have was just a short block every thing bolted on just fine.

The only other upgrades I did was a race oil pan, spark plugs and thats it. My 3V heads are making great power and I still run a stock cam. I could not be happier.

If you wanted a race car then I would say go with a 4V or if you have tons of money and just want every inch of your car to say Roush then thats cool too. But there is a more effecient and cheaper way to do it.

Roush might have a decent warrenty on there stuff but I can tell you this Ford will probably not warrenty it and once you start getting this crazy with mods if warrenty is an issue to you i would rethink every thing.

I know it's a little late, but I just wanted to say that those heads are fore the SBF, not the modular motors.

In case someone comes along and reads this.

Roush=overpriced parts just like Jack's tuner cars are overpriced for what you get.
If you want new heads, try Livernois, JDM, Fox Lake or FRRP.

One important thing you might want to consider especially since you have a Roush is weight. That MMR shortblock is going to weigh more than our stock blocks. I don't know how much but that is an iron block right? The more weight you add to the nose, the worse the handling will be.
