Charge Motion plate

Do charge motion plates really do anything and do they require a tune?

They're good for a few hp in the upper register. Tune is absolutely required.

Personally i am only considering them if i go with a centrifugal S/C but since i want a positive displacement one, i am not spending the money for them as of right now.

I love the difference they made on my car. they;re a fairly cheap mod also, around $150! I felt a very noticable gain

I know this is off the subject but i didnt want to start a new thread just to ask.

A friend of mine who also owns a 2009 GT was telling me that they no longer have interchangable Charge motion plates as they are now molded onto the intake manifold.

Is this true?

That is very true. It's all one piece now.

The only practical way to get rid of them is to get a intake manifold and delete plates for a 05 to 08.

Must have started with the 09' as I put them in my 08' when I did the SCT tune and CAI. I don't know how much difference they made but the dyno said 300 rwh.

I guess you could just patch the two end holes and leave the internal ones open.

Well thats one less mod for me! I was looking forward to installing those myself. Oh well maybe cams now!
